Last night, we went to the opening of the new Rauschenberg show at MOCA, and it was packed. Beyond packed - a mob scene. And this was the members' opening, so these weren't tourists, and, you know, Rauschenberg ain't Monet. There were literally thousands of people who thought the best way to spend their Saturday night would be to check out some modern art. And it wasn't a bunch of old folks on a visit from the home, either. If I had to guess, I'd put the average age at about 30.
Sometimes L.A. surprises me.
Oh, and if you're curious, the show is excellent.
